Chelsea football club successfully received the European Award of the ECA (European Club Association). This award could not be separated from the success of chelsea won the Champions League and FA Cup last year.
"The award given for his outstanding achievement (Chelsea) during the 2011-12 season in Europe and domestic competition," a statement from the ECA.
ECA is an independent body which replaced its predecessor - the G14 group and the European Club Forum - when the two merged in 2008. and Chelsea are among the teams that make up the ECA.
Ron Gourlay (Chelsea FC chief executive) :
"We are proud to receive this award. Last season we won the Champions League for the first time in history, and won the FA Cup for the seventh time and it is an honor if the ECA recognizes our success."
